Earth

Half the world sleeps hungry every night

while the other half rests with stomachs packed tight

Half the world has gourmet food for cats

The other half dies hungry, slowly like rats

Half the world cuts trees for their beds

while the other half has no place to rest their heads

Half the world has no work to make a niche

The other half prefers machines that make them rich

Half the world depends on trees for their stature

The other half wants to copyright nature

Half the world has more shoes than feet

The other half walks blistered in the heat

Half the world is addicted to Coke

Where there is no water, there is no hope

My tears, like autumn leaves, fall on the ground

They fall silently, making no sound

Let's balance the scales, let's not act in vain

If we all lend a hand, we can ease her pain
